I think the biggest drawback to using brown is that all of the "websafe" browns feel a little bit off. There is no "websafe" version of that perfect milk chocolate brown.

fabulous that is the only word i can use.
cause brown is my favourite color especially when it comes to design.most of the time i get my self full of ideas in this color.I prefer brown when used freely -not mixed with others.
tonal variation is the key for me form light brown to dark one.And it is great to see more pages with this color.

Basheer - isnīt the idea of web safe colors a thing of the past? I canīt say the last time I worried about it. The thought of someone having a 256 color video card seems like testing on IE4 or something. But yeah, brown is a tasty color to work with for sure.

Do people still worry about web safe colours? I donīt think itīs really an issue any more.

I think brown in branding is a fairly brave choice as it carries quite a few negative connotations, however when used with modern and outgoing colours such as mint, and pink I think it looks absolutely fab!
